Lawson helps Nuggets drub Mavericks

Ty Lawson scored 20 of his 27 points in the first half and the Denver Nuggets faced little resistance on their way to a 115-93 victory over the host Dallas Mavericks Monday. The defending champions were drubbed for a second straight game, routinely giving up easy baskets in both. Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 20 points.

Thunder 104, T-Wolves 100: Kevin Durant scored 33 points to lead visiting Oklahoma City. Russell Westbrook had 28 points, six assists and six rebounds for the Thunder. Kevin Love had 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves.

Magic 104, Rockets 95: Hedo Turkoglu scored 23 points to lead five Magic players in double figures as host Orlando earned its first victory of the season. Dwight Howard finished with 21 points.

Bobcats 96, Bucks 95: D.J. Augustin scored 19 points, Kemba Walker 13, including two free throws with 9.9 seconds remaining, and host Charlotte erased a 14-point deficit in its season opener.

Raptors 104, Cavaliers 96:Rookie Kyrie Irving scored six points and hardly played like the No. 1 overall pick as visiting Toronto spoiled the Cleveland guard's NBA debut. The Cavs are counting on the 19-year-old to turn around a team that won just 19 games last season.

Hornets 85, Suns 84: Eric Gordon (20 points) made a 20-footer from the top of the key with 4.2 seconds to play in his New Orleans debut to give the visiting Hornets a victory.

Spurs 95, Grizzlies 82: Manu Ginobili scored 24 points and host San Antonio began what could be Tim Duncan's final season with a satisfying win after Memphis upset the Spurs in the first round last season.

Pacers 91, Pistons 79: Roy Hibbert had 16 points and 14 rebounds for host Indiana in the season opener for both teams. -- AP
