Timeline of a tragedy

Aug. 17, 2006 Denice Fox is reported missing from her Glen Cove home after blood and broken glass are found in the house. Her body parts were later found in a neighbor's basement.

Aug. 18, 2006 Evan Marshall, 32, drives up to his mother's Glen Cove home with Fox's head in the trunk of his car. He is arrested and charged in her murder.

Sept. 14, 2006 Marshall pleads not guilty to first-degree murder in Fox's killing.

Sept. 12, 2007 Marshall pleads guilty to stabbing and dismembering Fox. The plea deal secures 30 years to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Nov. 19, 2007 Marshall is to be sentenced.
