Cops: Merrick man sold marijuana at chicken eatery

A worker at a Massapequa chicken takeout eatery was arrested by narcotics detectives Thursday, who said they saw him selling marijuana out of the store.

Eric S. Mandel, 37, of Camp Avenue in Merrick, was charged with two counts of criminal sale of marijuana and criminal possession of marijuana.

While conducting an unrelated investigation, Nassau narcotics detectives saw Mandel selling two clear plastic bags of what they believed to be marijuana at Chicken Au Go Go, 5364 Merrick Rd., Massapequa, police said.

After he was arrested, additional bags of marijuana were found in his possession, police said. Mandel was to be arraigned today in First District Court, Hempstead.
