MEXICAN. Since they added a little extra space and opened up the kitchen, the place doesn't feel as cramped as it used to (although it's still plenty busy). The upscale Mexican food at this Chelsea restaurant packs them in at lunch and dinner: You can stick with tradition and order a tried-and-true favorite, like the chicken enchilada or the burrito stuffed with marinated hanger steak. Or you can be a little more adventurous: there's duck confit in blue corn crepas or shrimp skewered with papaya.

Service is efficient; the staff is friendly and the margaritas are spirited and fruity. In summer, the small outdoor tables make a good place for people watching. Overall, the vibe is relaxed, and it's hard not to have a good time.
