Suffolk County Police arrested Christopher Martinez, 19, of Hauppauge. Martinez is accused of driving under the influence of drugs, police said. Police said another man in a pickup truck was chasing the pedestrian when Martinez, driving a 2005 Nissan, was unable to stop and hit the pedestrian. "He was just a motorist on the road," Det. Sgt. Richard Auspakersaid.
