Paterson has 2nd eye surgery
ALBANY Gov. David A. Paterson underwent successful laser surgery today on his right eye, the same procedure used to relieve pressure from glaucoma in his left eye.
The second operation was "a prophylactic measure," Paterson's office said in a statement. Today's surgery was performed by the same medical team that treated his left eye on Tuesday at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.
"The governor is home and resting comfortably," the statement said. "He is looking forward to spending time with his family over the long holiday weekend."
Paterson, 54, is blind in his left eye and only can see colors and large objects out of his right.
