An East Patchogue man was critically injured Wednesday morning when the vehicle he was driving in Patchogue was struck in the rear, then overturned and crashed into a utility pole, police said.
William Nadelson, 35, was attempting to turn into a parking lot off Route 112 near Sunrise Highway when his Ford Explorer was struck from behind by a 1993 Oldsmobile, police said.
Nadelson was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center for treatment, police said.
The driver of the other car, Robert Pollio, 54, of Patchogue, was not injured, police said.
Both cars were impounded for safety checks. The Fifth Squad is requesting anyone with information to call 631-854-8552.
