A Farmingville man was arrested Friday night and charged with drunken driving and, after cops found three boys in his car, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
Eugene T. Staudte Jr., 44, of 37 Knollcrest Ave., Farmingville, was pulled over at about 9:47 p.m. on southbound County Road 83 near Canal Road in Coram after a Suffolk County police officer noticed his 1998 Jeep swerving, cops said.
The officer made the determination that Staudte was intoxicated and arrested him. Inside the Jeep were his two children, ages 7 and 10, and a nephew, 7, police said.
Staudte was arrested and spent Friday night in jail. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip. His two boys were released to their mother and the nephew to the boy's father, police said.
