Man charged in assault on Home Depot guard
A man who assaulted a security guard who attempted to stop him from fleeing a Freeport Home Depot with a shopping cart filled with unpaid-for power tools was arrested Friday following a lengthy investigation, police said.
The robbery occurred on Dec. 29 at 5:40 p.m. at the Home Depot on Sunrise Highway in Freeport, police said.
