HL:Saskatoon scores three goals on first four shots to edge Wheat Kings 4-3@
BRANDON, Man. — The Saskatoon Blades scored three goals on their first four shots on their way to a 4-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Western Hockey League on Friday night.
Stefan Elliott, Jyri Niemi and Walker Wintoneak gave the Blades a 3-0 lead by the 11:50 mark of the first period, despite being outshot 9-4 at the time. Derek Hulak also scored for Saskatoon (17-3-3). Elliott finished with a goal and two assists.
Colby Robak, Matt Calvert and Scott Glennie replied for the Wheat Kings (12-9-2).
Steven Stanford stopped 44 shots for Saskatoon, while Brandon netminder Andrew Hayes made 25 saves.
