Irma became a dangerous Category 5 hurricane on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, with the most powerful winds ever recorded for a storm in the Atlantic Ocean, The Associated Press reported. See photos related to Irma, which made landfall in the Florida Keys as a Category 4 hurricane Sunday morning.
