Marshall football coach Mark Snyder resigns
HUNTINGTON - HUNTINGTON (AP) — Marshall University head football coach Mark Snyder is resigning.
Synder said in a news release issued Sunday that he made the decision after meeting earlier in the day with Athletics Director Mike Hamrick.
The 1988 Marshall graduate said the two men agreed his resignation represented the best interests of the program.
Synder said he was honored to lead the Thundering Herd the past five years, during which time he amassed a career record of 21-37.
Hamrick said the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
