Rep. Ackerman is unpopular upstate after Utica comment
WASHINGTON - Rep. Gary Ackerman is not so popular up in Utica right now.
Since the Roslyn Heights Democrat quipped on a radio program this week that "I don't do Utica," politicians and residents in the upstate city have been up in arms.
Mayor David Roefaro told a local TV reporter Ackerman owed Utica an apology.
"'I don't do Utica,' that's not a very nice comment," Roefaro said.
