“Serial” is back.

The first episode of the second season of the podcast, “DUSTWUN,” was released early Thursday morning. The season will focus on Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was held captive by the Haqqani network for nearly five years.

The Obama administration released five Taliban detainees from Guantanamo Bay in exchange for Bergdahl’s release in 2014.

Bergdahl of Hailey, Idaho, was charged in March with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy, a charge that carries life in prison. However, an Army officer has recommended that Bergdahl’s case be referred to a special court martial, which is a misdemeanor-level forum. The five former Taliban leaders remain in Qatar where they are prohibited from leaving the country or re-engaging in militant activities.

In its first season, “Serial” looked into the case of Adnan Syed, a Maryland teenager who was convicted of murdering his girlfriend in 2000 and sentenced to life in prison. Last month, a judge agreed to reopen the case.
