Sunday marks 1-year anniversary of Spierer's disappearance

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sunday marks the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of Edgemont native Lauren Spierer.

The Indiana University student was last seen at around 4 a.m. on June 3, 2011 after partying with friends. Spierer was on her way back to her Bloomington, Ind. apartment but never made it home.

Spierer's family appeared on NBC's 'Today Show' on Friday and said that they still have not given up hope of finding the college student alive, but know that one year later it is not likely.

Since her disappearance, police have followed up on more than 2,600 tips and some false leads. The last people seen with Spierer have lawyered up and deny any knowledge or responsibility.
