Obama announces his bid for re-election via email
The president first announced his bid for re-election in an email and with a video to his mailing list subscribers on April 4, 2011. In an interview with The Associated Press, Obama outlined his strengths and weaknesses as a president and as a candidate, saying his main concern as the election approaches is the state of the economy.
