To promote the development of a community based on the traditions, philosophy, and governance of the Haudenosaunee, and to contribute to the preservation of the culture of people as a framework for a blend of traditional native concerns with the best of the emerging new earth friendly, environmental ideologies that run parallel to these traditions.
To conduct programs in the culture & traditions of the people; to foster an active accumulation of spoken Mohawk language by members of the community; and to continue the oral traditions, stories, songs and dances in the unique spirit of the Mohawk path.
Nina Greene Benefit Raffle
Nina Greene
Handmade Beaded Iroquois Picture Frame
The Kanatsiohareke Mohawk Community is holding a Benefit Raffle for one of our dearest friends and supporters.Nina Greene has been a traditional dancer at our annual festival for many years and shortly after our festival in 2007, Nina suffered a serious illness which will require more treatment on her road to recovery.
We want to assist Nina in a substantial way, and this raffle will go a long way in achieving this goal, and the monies collected will help to defray her medical costs and other needs. To that end, the donation of this beautifully hand beaded, Iroquois style picture frame is one of the ways we can help.We hope you will join us in helping Nina by supporting this worthy endeavor.
Tickets are available in the Craft Shop or you can download, print and complete the tickets below, then mail them with your payment to Kanatsiohareke c/o the Mohawk Craft Shop. The drawing will be held on December 7, 2008.
