NYC soldier killed
A soldier from New York City was killed Tuesday while fighting in the Iraq war, the Defense Department said yesterday.
Army Spc. Hai Ming Hsia, 37, died during combat operations in Ramadi, about 60 miles west of Baghdad, the department announced.
Hsia was assigned to the 6th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany.
As of yesterday, at least 2,584 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
