Cindy McCain treated for 'minor sprain' after handshake
WASHINGTON - Cindy McCain was treated for a "minor sprain"
yesterday after someone at a campaign event in Michigan for her husband, Republican John McCain, shook her hand firmly.
Campaign spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker said Cindy McCain left the event in West Bloomfield, Mich., for X-rays after a supporter squeezed too much. She had surgery for a wrist injury several years ago, and the handshake exacerbated it.
Later, she stood with her arm in a sling next to her husband.
