Akasaka
40 Front St. Newburgh, NY 845-568-5889
This small, narrow Japanese cafe seats about 20 sushi fans on an outside patio facing the Newburgh marina. The main dining room is warm and woody, with Japanese lanterns and soft lighting. While the sushi wins praise, the specialties here are inventive seafood rolls. There is an assortment of beers but not much in the way of wine. –Bryan Miller
