CARMEL - Incumbent Assemblyman Stephen Katz is the winner in the 94th District's Republican primary.

Katz was challenged by business owner Dario Gristina, who said he was running to cut down on unfunded mandates. Gristina, who was once married to the alleged 'Monroe Madam' Anna Gristina, says he didn't believe her arrest would have an effect on his campaign.

At his campaign headquarters in Carmel, Katz thanked his supporters for putting their faith in him and said he felt humbled.
