No need for panic.

Those fighter jets screaming down the Hudson River early Friday afternoon were friendly pilots -- members of the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration team.

They were familiarizing themselves with the airspace in preparation for their appearance at the 11th annual Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach on Memorial Day weekend.

The flyovers, involving six of the blue F/A-18 Hornets, gave New Yorkers a preshow special shortly after 1 p.m. The team tweeted photos of themselves, with blue jumpsuits and yellow helmets on, during a "chair flying" meeting before take off and more photos just before the runway takeoff.

The jets made several passes over the Hudson area, including between the Tappan Zee Bridge and the area near One World Trade.
