Abeetza Next Door opens in Greenvale
Abeetza, a long-standing Greenvale pizzeria and takeout shop, has spawned a neighboring full-scale restaurant called, appropriately, Abeetza Next Door. It offers seating for about 35 and also features beer and wine.
Chef-owner Joseph DeLorenzo makes everything on-site — pasta, sausage, sauces, breads. DeLorenzo said that in the dining room, the most popular dish is “angry” shrimp ($12.95) served over zucchini “noodles” — that is, raw zucchini cut into thin ribbons and briefly sauteed in garlic and oil. Because it’s a no-carb low-cal option, those noodles can be substituted for almost every pasta on the menu.
Also on the menu: Margherita flatbread ($11), roasted beet salad ($9), rigatoni Bolognese ($15), chicken parmigiana ($16) and veal Milanese ($18).
Abeetza Next Door is at 82 Glen Cove Rd #8, Greenvale, 516- 484-3123, abeetza.com.
