In this week’s Newsday, Peter Gianotti reviews the reborn Le Soir in Bayport. The French restaurant was devastated by fire last summer and has now reopened with a brighter, more contemporary decor. What hasn’t changed is the kitchen’s commitment to classic, hearty cuisine Française.

Joan Reminick visits the newest branch of Wild Fig in Roslyn. The three existing branches of the Turkish-Mediterranean restaurant (Glen Cove, Garden City and Syosset) have table service. The Roslyn location is a sleek, modern cafeteria where you build your meal — fresh bread, meat, vegetables — in the style popularized by Chipotle Mexican Grill.
