A former NYPD officer was charged Tuesday in Brooklyn federal court with running a prostitution ring that operated out of Long Island, Staten Island and New Jersey motels.

Eduardo Cornejo, 33, of Staten Island, an 11-year NYPD veteran who resigned on Jan. 15, was accused of transporting at least 10 women in interstate commerce to engage in prostitution at motels in East Meadow, Rockville Centre and elsewhere.

In addition to surveillance, prosecutors said they were able to eavesdrop on conversations in Cornejo’s car and listen to him discuss their activities with the women.
