Police say a mentally disabled Italian man who had been missing since finishing Sunday's New York City Marathon has been found.
They say an off-duty officer on his way to work noticed Gianclaudio Marengo on a No. 2 subway train in midtown Manhattan Tuesday morning. They say Marengo was still wearing his racing attire, including a turquoise shirt and black shorts.
The 30-year-old Marengo had last been seen in Central Park about 39 hours earlier. He had arrived with a group of runners from Italy who later reported him missing. They've since returned home.
Police say he appears to be in good condition and was being evaluated at a precinct station house. He had been staying in a Queens hotel.
