It's easy to miss this storefront enterprise tucked into a small retail strip of identical facades close to the Jacob Burns Film Center. Inside it's warm and tasteful, with beige-orange walls, paintings with seasonal themes, a long row of banquettes, votive candles and a six-seat bar.
The seasonally driven menu -- and the term is taken seriously here -- is inventive, but at the same time well focused, with no drama or chaos on the plates. Popular dishes are lobster and asparagus risotto with pickled black cherries and scallions; ravioli of broccoli rabe, mushroom and onions; five-spiced tiger shrimp with chorizo-cornbread stuffing; and seared sea scallops with crispy pancetta and asparagus over cappellini. Vegans need not make special orders to accommodate their diet; the restaurant makes a point to offer several such options.
Servers are meticulous, congenial and competent. Wines are reasonably priced, particularly those by the glass. Also available are beers and spirits. -Bryan MillerHours: Mondays: closed; Tu-Th: 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; Fri: 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sat: 5-11 p.m.; Sun: 5-9 p.m. Reservations: Recommended Credit cards: Accepted
