Election night parties in the Hudson Valley
Photo credit: MCT | Throw an election party and make a night of it with a red, white and blue celebration. Go red, white and blue with food, drinks, decor and more.
Are you excited to watch the election results trickle in tomorrow night? If you want to cheer (or cry) with a crowd, a few Hudson Valley bars and restaurants are hosting events where you can watch all the action while in the company of fellow politicos.
If you’re an Obama fan, you can hang with other like-minded people at the Hudson Valley for Obama 2012’s Election Night Bash at 8:30 p.m. at Shadows on the Hudson (76 Rinaldi Blvd., Poughkeepsie; 845-486-9500; www.shadowsonthehudson.com).
Trivia buffs can attend the Big Gay Hudson Valley Election Roundup starting tomorrow at 7 p.m. at The Out Bar (206 Main St., Poughkeepsie; 845-485-9999; theoutbar.com). The festivities include presidential trivia and drink specials.
If you'd rather spend Election Day voting on something completely unrelated to politics, drop by Captain Lawrence Brewing Company for a beer election (444 Saw Mill River Rd., Elmsford; 914-741-2337; www.captainlawrencebrewing.com). From 2 to 10 p.m., the brewery is hosting an event in its tasting room in which visitors can sample 12 pilot batch ales and choose their favorite. The winning ale will be remade and brought back to the tasting room.
