Jermaine Paul to premiere new single on 'The Voice'
Since Jermaine Paul won “The Voice” last season, it’s only fitting that the first single from his forthcoming album will debut on the reality competition TV show.
Paul, a Harriman native, announced the news on his Facebook page Wednesday, writing that the world premiere of his first single will air on the Nov. 8 episode of “The Voice” and that the release date for his new album is Dec. 18.
In an interview with Newsday Westchester in May, Paul talked about the kind of album he would like to record, saying that he wanted to “just keep it 100 percent real.”

“Emotionally driven music that speaks to me as well as the listener,” he continued. “I don’t want to be one of those artists that just puts out a single or two, and puts them on the album, and the album is okay but the singles are great. I want you to be able to put the CD in and be able to play every song, and it’s good music all the way through.”
If you can’t wait until November to hear new music from Paul, you can check out two classic songs he recently recorded and posted on YouTube. In September, the “Voice” winner announced that he would cover songs requested by fans. Fans can submit requests on Paul’s Facebook page or via Twitter with the hashtag #Jermaniacs.
So far, along with Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason,” Paul has recorded an a capella cover of Otis Redding's “Try a Little Tender Tenderness,” which you can watch below.
