Katie Holmes, Spike Lee movie 'Mania Days' filming in Yonkers
“Mania Days,” a drama starring Katie Holmes and being produced by Spike Lee, is filming at Alder Manor in Yonkers. According to the Mayor’s Office of Film and Photography, the movie began shooting at the historic estate Monday and is scheduled to wrap up April 26.
According to Indiewire, “Mania Days” stars Holmes as a manic-depressive poet who falls for a manic-depressive rapper, played by Luke Kirby. Lee is producing the film, and Paul Dalio is directing.
Pop Sugar reported that Lee was seen on set when the movie filmed in Manhattan last week, so there’s a chance that both the “Dawson’s Creek” star and “Do the Right Thing” director will be on set in Yonkers as well.
A 72-room estate that was built in 1912, Alder Manor has served as the setting for other films, including “A Beautiful Mind” and “The Royal Tenenbaums.”
