'Star Trek Into Darkness' international trailer: What's new?
The international trailer for "Star Trek Into Darkness," directed by Sarah Lawrence College alumnus J.J. Abrams, offers a bit more dialogue and skin than its predecessors.
Slated for wide release May 17, the sequel to the rebooted sci-fi franchise just released a third trailer, featuring new levels of gravitas, thanks to Benedict Cumberbatch's villainous character John Harrison, and a flash of Alice Eve as Dr. Carol Marcus, sans cumbersome Starfleet uniform.
Abrams — whose credits include "Lost," "Super 8" and the next "Star Wars" movie — also directed and produced the 2009 "Star Trek" reboot that hauled in more than $250 million at the domestic box office.
Which blockbuster franchise's movie installment are you more excited to see: "Star Trek" or "Star Wars"? Vote in Newsday Westchester's poll and explain your answer in the comments section.
