Tax troubles no stranger to Hudson Valley celebrities
With today marking the deadline for most Americans to file taxes, Hudson Valley celebrities are among those who have had recent tax troubles.
Stephen Baldwin, who lives in Upper Grandview and was just eliminated as a contestant on NBC's "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice," allegedly failed to pay more than $350,000 in income taxes in Nyack, but he appeared to work out a plea deal late last month.
Former Purchase College student Wesley Snipes wasn't so lucky. On April 2, the star of the "Blade" trilogy finally was released from jail after he was convicted of charges relating to tax evasion. He'll serve the rest of his three-year sentence under house arrest through July 19.
But not everyone's tax troubles appear to be over. Former Yonkers resident Mary J. Blige reportedly owes more than $900,000 in back taxes to the State of New Jersey.
