Read more »'Star Trek' sequel bumps up release date to May 16

"Star Trek Into Darkness" fanatics won't have to wait quite as long as they'd thought to see the J.J. Abrams-directed movie, whose wide release date of May 16 is now a day earlier than previously announced.
IMAX screenings will also be bumped up a day, with screenings starting as early as May 15. Those showings will include about a half-hour of footage filmed with high-res IMAX cameras.
