LONG BEACH - The City of Long Beach is working to clean up massive amounts of trash left on the street from homes damaged by Sandy.

City officials say that 16,000 yards of debris is being cleared every day from a massive pile of trash that is still growing.

Residents say the trash is not only depressing, since much of it represents residents' worldly possessions, but also that the trash is beginning to affect air quality.

The city says it is working seven days a week to clear the trash. It says that the cleanup should be done in about three weeks.
