'Monroe Madam' not getting out of jail yet

NEW YORK (AP) - The accused madam of a multimillion-dollar NewYork City brothel will have to wait to get out of jail.

A lawyer had offered his $2.5 million loft for Anna Gristina'sbond, saying she was broke. He invited the 44-year-old Gristina andher family to move in, with her under house arrest.

The judge hearing the case says he won't decide Thursday on theunusual bail proposal.

Lawyer Peter Gleason said Thursday that he's no longerrepresenting Gristina, but the housing offer still stands.Gristina's new lawyer is Gary Greenwald.

Prosecutors say the Scotland-born British citizen providedprostitutes to wealthy clients for 15 years. Gristina has pleadednot guilty and has been held on $2 million bond since her Februaryarraignment.

Prosecutors have said her clients could help her flee.
