NYC Council head, who is gay, wants marriage bill
NEW YORK (AP) — New York City's council speaker, who is gay, is making an impassioned plea for the state Senate to pass a bill legalizing same-sex marriage when it meets this week.
Christine Quinn told reporters Monday that just having the bill on the agenda for Tuesday's special session gives gay New Yorkers hope.
