Snapping Turtles saved by Teatown

Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining took in 23 snapping turtles that were rescued from harsh conditions at a Chinatown food market. The adult turtles, believed harvested from Hudson Valley ponds, were seized by state Department of Environmental Conservation workers and delivered to Teatown, where Erin Baker and Lisa Kelly, licensed wildlife rehabilitators, are nursing them back to health so the reptiles can be released back into the wild.
