Hillary Clinton ate hot chilis to keep frenetic pace, reporter says
As Hillary Rodham Clinton hopscotched the world's hot spots as secretary of state, her diet was just as fiery, her biographer says.
The biographer, a BBC reporter who often accompanied the Chappaqua resident on her travels, says that Clinton would chow down on hot chili peppers to increase her metabolism and cleanse her system.
"She eats those hot chilis that make you sweat," Kim Ghattas tells Politico.com in an interview. "That's how she keeps healthy."

"I'm about half her age, but I could barely keep up," she says.
Ghattas says yoga, walks and swimming also were incorporated into Clinton's routine.
Ghattas' book, "The Secretary: A Journey with Hillary Clinton from Beirut to the Heart of American Power," recounts how Clinton, who was welcomed "like a rock star" on her stops around the world, changed the tone of American diplomacy.
