Barack Obama, I quit smoking- all the time!

President-elect Barack Obama's smoking habit is in the news again.

Teaching kids 'no' in this economy

I'm not sure who I feel worse for these days, parents or kids. In this economy, formerly acquiescent and well-heeled parents are going to face the monumental challenge of reprogramming their kids to understand the word "no."

Newspapers, for me, are black, white, a good read

"Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter."
