Adam Sandler 
SNL years: 1990-95 The case for him: Nobody else like him in SNL history. Canteen Boy? Opera Man? Cajun Man? Strange and wonderful characters. But Sandler was best at being himself. If, in fact, that was the real Sandler who sang "The Thanksgiving Song" and an ode to his sweatshirt on Weekend Update. |

SNL years: 1986-91 The case for her: In an era of great performers, Hooks still stood out as half of the singing Sweeney Sisters (with Nora Dunn) and through great impressions of Sinead O'Connor and Ivana Trump. |
