ITHACA -- A Cornell University fraternity has been disbanded after two pledges were hospitalized in an alcohol-related hazing incident described by the school as "sexually humiliating" and "mentally scarring."

The school said it has revoked its recognition of Tau Epsilon Phi for at least four years. Officials did not elaborate on exact details of the incident, which reportedly occurred in October.

Another defunct fraternity at Cornell, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, was fined $12,000 in October for the hazing and alcohol poisoning death of a fraternity member from Brooklyn in February 2011. Police say George Desdunes was tied up and forced to drink alcohol in a mock kidnapping. -- AP
