Nod to Paterson's budget bid reminiscent of Truman's
Gov. David A. Paterson was compared last week to President Harry S. Truman after his bid to unilaterally cut spending to close the budget deficit if the State Legislature won't act.
"Give 'em hell, David," said Mitchell Rechler of the Association for a Better Long Island. "Let the voters and history judge him by giving him the authority to finish the job of putting our finances back together."
