NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - A suburban New York man is accused of paying an undercover FBI agent $3,000 to kill a Texas man.

According to an FBI affidavit, Alejandro Valdovinos-Diaz, of New Rochelle, feared the Texas man would kill him for having an affair with his wife.

The Journal News says Valdovinos-Diaz was indicted Tuesday on charges of using a facility of interstate commerce with intent to commit murder. He's been held without bail since his arrest in January.

The paper says attempts to reach his lawyer on Thursday were unsuccessful.

Yonkers police were tipped off in January to the alleged plot. The Affidavit says police contacted FBI agents, who used the informant to arrange a meeting in New Rochelle days later between Valdovinos-Diaz and the agent.
