The Afya Foundation, a humanitarian group based in Yonkers, is working with the city to collect supplies on Saturday to be donated for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in the Rockaways.

Donations of supplies such as new toiletries, warm socks and gloves, flashlights, batteries, cleaning supplies, water, juice, powdered milk and cereals are welcome, according to foundation officials.

Items may be dropped off at Afya's warehouse, 140 Saw Mill River Rd. between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
