The water supply for all communities on Fire Island, save for Davis Park, is safe to drink, the Suffolk County Water Authority announced Wednesday.

Fire Island residents should run their water for 10 to 15 minutes before using as a precautionary measure.

In Davis Park, the water should only be used for fire protection and toilets.

Previously, only Ocean Beach residents had safe drinking water.

The system was damaged when superstorm Sandy came ashore Oct. 29.

For more information, residents of Fire Island can call the authority at 631-698-9500.
