SCWA: Water safe to drink in nearly all Fire Island communities

The water supply for all communities on Fire Island, save for Davis Park, is safe to drink, the Suffolk County Water Authority announced Wednesday.

Fire Island residents should run their water for 10 to 15 minutes before using as a precautionary measure.

In Davis Park, the water should only be used for fire protection and toilets.
