Volunteers bake apple pies for needy families

Project SHARE volunteers gathered at the Hastings-on-Hudson home of project founder Jeanne Newman to peel hundreds of apples that will be used to bake more than 50 apple pies for the region's neediest families. The desserts will be served at the project's annual Thanksgiving dinner at Hastings High School. (Nov. 19, 2012)

Madison Lee, 20, of Yonkers, peels apples that will be used to make 50 apple pies for Project SHARE's annual Thanksgiving dinner at Hastings High School. Lee, a junior at Pace University, has been volunteering for the project since she was in high school. "This is a very rewarding experience, being able to know and see the families have a Thanksgiving ... and just know that they are also having a thankful experience with their families," she says.
