A dense fog advisory is in effect Monday afternoon for all of Long Island until midnight with a visibility a quarter-mile or less at times, the National Weather Service said.

That means hazardous driving conditions, with drivers advised to slow down, use low-beams and allow for added distance between cars, the weather service said.
