Friday's forecast of mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s is a preview to the weekend, the National Weather Service said.
Slightly cooler and less humid conditions for the end of the workweek are likely to continue Saturday and Sunday, the service's Upton office said.
Both days also offer daily highs in the low 80s with sunshine, blue skies and little chance of rain.
On Friday, a light east wind blows at 10 to 13 mph with nighttime lows in the mid to upper 60s.
A big chunk of the weekend should remain mostly dry as low pressure passes well to the south and east, the service said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said Friday is expected to get some clouds and dry conditions. He sees humidity levels rising early next week, which could include rain by Monday night.
For Saturday, again mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 80s and a northeast wind from 10 to 13 mph.
Sunday offers much of the same, with winds shifting to the north at about 9 mph.
Sunday night calls for some clouds and lifting cold front could bring some precipitation by the evening hours on Monday.
