The workweek opens with clouds and daily highs in the low 60s across Long Island, the National Weather Service said.
Southwest winds at 8 to 13 mph accompany the Monday clouds, the service’s Upton office said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said conditions are dry Monday “with showers and storms on Tuesday.”
The service said rain is likely to appear during the overnight hours and into Tuesday morning.
Traffic on major roadways was moving well during the morning commute, according to the state Department of Transportation website, informny.com.
The Long Island Rail Road also was reporting good service at its site, mta.info/lirr.
