Expect partly sunny skies — with a slight chance of brief, scattered showers — Tuesday on Long Island, according to the National Weather Service.
North winds are expected to shift to the southwest at 5 mph to 15 mph, with high temperatures in the low 60s, forecasters said.
By the afternoon skies will be mostly cloudy “with some breaks of sunshine” and a “small chance of a shower on the South Shore,” News 12 meteorologist Rich Hoffman said.
Forecasters are predicting temperatures to dip back into the upper 40s overnight before climbing back to the low 70s on Wednesday.
Warmer weather’s on tap for Wednesday and Thursday, when highs are expected in the upper 60s and low 70s, before Friday brings a chance of showers, the weather service said.
